: : Scandinavian Style : :

The long winters and few hours of sunlight inspire
Scandinavian designers to create bright, light, practical environments.

Historically, they tried to make the domestic environment
as comfortable as possible with the materials at hand.
These trends were picked up by neighbouring countries
and eventually spread all over the world.

Scandinavian design reflects a sensitivity to materials and to
researching and employing traditional methods that are an
important and influential part of design history.

The high-quality designs live on today and are recreated
continually in various fields, confirming their timelessness.

Don't get us wrong we still have a major weakness for anything
rustic/vintage/eclectic (if you haven't already noticed)
and we usually like to steer away from
overly modern design, however there is something
about the simplistic elegance and clean style
of Scandinavian design that is so beautiful -
you can't help but marvel over it.
