Rural Spanish Dream Escape / /

This amazing dream home is situated in the

historic centre of the Madremanya, Girona Spain.

Part of a Manor House from the 14th Century original stone walls and ceiling beams have been preserved to compliment this homes rustic aesthetic. Other elements were very deteriorated and replaced by materials of demolition from other country houses in the area.

The owners have reformed it into Can Bassa, a rural holiday

home divided into 5 apartments.

Rated number 1 on trip advisor for places to stay in Madremanya,

the best part about these apartments is that they are totally affordable!

In peak season of July & August the most expensive apartment is 200euros

per night for 4 people or 1620euros per week.

What to do now? Grab a group of friends and head to Spain.

What a find!

We're in dining heaven with mismatched chairs :)

Dining settings in the past have generally been quite tame and rigid

and lets face it ... a little boring!

The dining room is a place of fun and happiness

and your setting should represent that!

Steer away from the good old matching table and chairs that your parents had...

it's outdated and super uncool :)

The key to achieving the mismatched look is to keep the table quite simple

(either a timber or stainless steel legged table works perfectly)

and then decorate it with mismatched chairs!

If you're nervous about it all 'not matching' ...

(even though that's kinda the point!)

you can maintain consistency through the style of chair or the colour...

Personally we love a mixture of materials, textures, colours, prints and styles!

Have fun with it and don't take it too seriously :)

Our favourite renovators on the block Sophie and Dale used mismatched chairs

in their dining setting! We also LOVE the exposed brick and handmade

'bon appétit' sign. Perfection!

Here are some of our favourite ways to use mismatched chairs!

Here at Sky Parlour we also have a range of chairs available for you to purchase!

{ inspired by science }

We love old science laboratory inspired decor... whether it's vintage chemistry/science bottles, test tubes, beakers or a flask these glass lab vessels are geek-chic and look great when converted into vases or just propped up together on a mantel piece of shelf.

These eerie little vintage treasures have an old time feel that add an element of intrigue in your home... The best part is that they are really affordable, they come in all shapes and sizes and in lots of incredible rich colours, the amber and cobalt-blue apothecary bottles are amazing!

::NEON OBSESSION::

From Milan to Holland NEON is popping up everywhere in the interior world

and we're loving it!

Whether it be a neon door, chair, light fitting or cushion cover

we think everyone should add a burst of neon

to their home...

So what neon touch are we dying over?

----The neon sprayed vintage cutlery---

. AMAZING .

Definitely adding that to the DIY list!

Woven threads...

From tapestries to crochet and even woven horse hair,

weaving is a meticulous age old tradition that takes
skill, time and a lot of creativity!

There's nothing like a little
woven inspiration to brighten your day...

{ Pigeon Hole Shelves }

The pigeon hole shelving system was derived from the early

17th century where they were literally used as a hole for pigeons!

This system later developed as a compartment

system for leaving messages and papers...

today they are making an appearance in the interior design world and

we think there is nothing cuter than a pigeon hole shelf

to store all of your collectables, jewellery, candles, letters, keys

and anything else you can pop in there!

Pigeon hole shelves are super cute for the kids room

to display their books, wooden toys, dolls and cars!
